My knowledge of the product development and project management lifecycles, plus my years of experience as a technical writer on project teams has taught me how to:

  • Perform a needs analysis to determine the customer’s needs and suggest solutions

  • Work with engineers, programmers or other subject matter experts to get the pertinent information 

  • Manage time and information for multiple projects simultaneously

  • Negotiate schedule and scope changes to manage scheduling conflicts and other issues that may affect the on-time delivery

  • Perform process analysis, suggest process improvements, and document processes for internal and external customers

  • Document best practices and negotiate agreement when conflicts arise about what’s “best” 

  • Perform usability tests and content editing for software and web sites, and work with the programmer, engineer, or web site developer to improve the product

  • Create many types of documents, online help, and training material that satisfies the needs of users who have different levels of expertise

  • Be flexible and adapt to many changes in focus and schedules
